Wally Renegar Memorial Dedication

On Sunday, August 16, 2015, a memorial to Reverend Wally Renegar was dedicated.  Wally was the Bethany Police Chaplin for six years before being taken from us in a tragic automobile accident. Wally had been affiliated with the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene for over six decades.  He was employed in various positions by Southern Nazarene University before retiring in 2001, and he was a huge fan and councilor of the SNU Crimson Storm sports teams.  Every year the SNU athletic department gives a deserving student the Wally Renegar Spirit Award.

But, the most important part of Wally’s earthly life was the love of his life, his wife Waulea. They had been married for 58 years.  They were blessed with two children, his daughter Taryn and son Todd.

The Wally Renegar Memorial was a result of the work of Kyle Bloomer of Bethany.  Kyle Leader Cropwas looking for a project to earn his Eagle Scout rank with the Boy Scouts of America.  Kyle decided to pay tribute to his neighbor Wally Renegar.   The process took nearly two years to complete and involved development of the project, planning, fund raising and implementation.  Congratulations to Kyle for all his tireless work and the completion of the this memorial.
