2012 Days closed will be added shortly.
**On holidays that fall on Saturday or Sunday, the day closed may fall on a Friday or Monday.
Trash service will be suspended on city holidays and will resume on the next scheduled business day.

POLICE OFFICER
The Bethany Police Department is accepting applications for the position of police officer. All applicants must be at least 21 to 45 years of age, possess a good driving record and have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions.
The successful applicant must possess excellent community relation skills, and have the willingness and ability to perform job duties under varied working conditions. Starting pay is $35,028 per year. The City offers a generous benefit package including health insurance, vacation, sick leave and retirement. Uniforms and equipment are provided. The hiring process will consist of a physical agility test, written exam, and oral board interviews.

Entry Level Firefighter
The Bethany Fire Department is testing for qualified applicants for the position of an Entry Level Firefighter. Those with firefighting experience, training, knowledge and education are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be able and willing to work 24 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays. Minimum Qualifications: High School graduate, current CPAT certification, current NREMT certification,Firefighter I and possess an Oklahoma Class D Drivers license.An extensive background check will be conducted; those with a felony conviction will not be considered.Starting pay is $2,372.00 per month.

Communication Specialist (911 Operator)
The Bethany Police Department is testing for qualified applicants for the position of Communication Specialist. Those with police dispatching experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Job functions include answering 911 emergency calls,dispatching police, fire and medical services. The successful applicant must have the ability to multi-task in an often fast paced, high stress environment. Excellent communication and computer skills will be needed. Applicants must complete an extensive background check; those with felony convictions will not be considered. Applicants must be able to work shifts, weekends and holidays. The City of Bethany offers a generous benefit package including vacation, sick leave, paid holidays. The applicant will receive health care insurance and retirement.Pay ranges from $24,257 to $37,342. Applicants will complete a written exam, oral review board interview and interview with the Chief of Police. Applications for the position can be obtained online at cityofbethany.org. SOLID WASTE COLLECTOR
The City of Bethany is accepting applications for the position of Solid Waste Collector in the Public Works Department. Work includes the collection and loading of refuse into a hydraulic powered packer truck and entails considerable physical exertion resulting from lifting and carrying heavy containers and exposure to adverse weather conditions. Detailed job description available upon request. High school diploma (or GED) is required. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Applicant must be able to use and maintain a variety of tools and equipment. Salary range: $19,956 to $29,540 with excellent benefits.
